POSTCARDS FROM THE BRIGHT SIDE

Jesse Butterworth has made a career out of turning setbacks into sing-alongs. With an insatiable curiosity for all things music and a refusal to fit inside any one genre, he’s the rare artist whose catalog moves seamlessly from pop to soul to orchestral grandeur—all connected by his knack for storytelling and hope.

A West Coast native raised on The Beatles, James Taylor, and Elton John, Jesse picked up his first guitar in middle school and never looked back. After college, he signed a record deal with his band Daily Planet, scoring three #1 songs, international tours, and a SESAC National Songwriter Award before a freak on-stage accident forced a complete reinvention.

He reemerged in Seattle as both a solo artist and the frontman of the horn-driven soul-rock powerhouse The West Coast Feed, hailed as “electrifying” (Melodic Magazine) and “a force of nature” (American Songwriter). Together and solo, Butterworth has played sold-out shows in London, New York, Austin, Los Angeles, and Seattle, blending humor, heart, and high-voltage performance.

Following his Abbey Road-recorded All the Gold I’ve Struck, Jesse expanded his sonic universe with four ambitious projects:

Poptimism Vol. 1 & 2 – recorded at Abbey Road Studios, a vibrant double-album that radiates wit and wonder.

Symphonic – a lush collaboration with the Czech Symphony Orchestra.

Who Spiked the Eggnog? – a big-band Christmas romp full of swing, spirit, and self-aware cheer.

“Brilliant,” declared the BBC, praising his ability to fuse meaning and melody into something timeless. Across every release, Butterworth’s music transcends category—equal parts pop, rock, gospel, and cinematic soul—yet unmistakably his own.
